Football offer attracts 1,000 calls a week
Holidays By Phone claims to have generated more than 1,000 enquiries a week from its Football In The Sun campaign which aims to lure football supporters to Mediterranean resorts during Euro 2000.Working in conjunction with operators such as Cosmos, First Choice and Unijet, Football In The Sun has been running for over a month to attract customers to watch the June matches from hotels and resorts screening the games on Sky TV. Traditionally matches have caused a slump in bookings.
Managing director Steve Endacott said: “Tour operators should stop looking at the negative aspects of Euro 2000 and start selling the positives. If Dad wants to watch the game but Mum and the kids don’t, what better place than on holiday to find a compromise?”
Prices start at £99 for full-board, while a half-board holiday at a property with Sky TV costs £199.
