Travelstore.com nets £7m of business since site revamp

On-line business travel agency travelstore.com claims to have signed up £7m of new business since it relaunched its Web site.

Director of sales Bill Kirkwood said more than 30 companies who spend an average of £200,000 a year on travel, including the on-line investment company iii.co.uk, have become members of the travel programme over the past two months.

The programme offers small- to medium-sized companies travel planning and cost control services, including negotiated rates, consolidated fares, management reports and automated travel policy management.

“We are able to offer these companies something that they can’t get from the big business travel agencies, such as on-line travel policy management,” said Kirkwood.

He said travelstore.com, which was launched just over a year ago, was continuing to target companies with a travel budget of less than £1m a year.

It is launching a direct mail and telmarketing campaign later this month and has appointed an eight-strong dedicated sales team for the company’s new corporate travel programme.
