Grenada to shut down London office on May 1

THE GRENADA Board of Tourism is shutting down its London office on May 1.


The move has led to the departure of director Celine Bullen who is returning to the Caribbean island after nine years.


London-based CIB has been appointed to provide full marketing services from May 1 and Grenada sales representative Sonja Rogers will be retained. One person has been made redundant.


Bullen helped to increase visitor numbers by 134% since January 1994.


CIB plans to develop a training programme for agents who want to specialise in Grenada and the Caribbean over the next 12 months. This will include familiarisation trips, educationals and training evenings.


Aselect band of tour operators will also be approached to form joint marketing partnerships.
