Benidorm in capacity hike
TOUR operators are increasing capacity to Benidorm this summer to cope with the high demand.Virgin Sun offered one weekly charter flight from London and one from Manchester last year and will double its frequency this year.
Thomson is believed to be seeking to secure more beds this summer as demand for the region grows.
Benidorm Tourist Board director Maria Jose Montiel said: “This is what everybody hopes to have – a year-round resort that never closes and is never out of season.”
Benidorm is increasingly popular with tourists from around the UK and Wales is earmarked as a market with strong growth potential.
To encourage visitors, the BTB will be hosting a roadshow this autumn in Cardiff. Fifty representatives from tourism-based businesses in the Benidorm region will visit Wales for the Roadshow.
