n MANCASSOLA returns to aviation industry



Franco Mancassola, the former chairman and chief executive of failed airline Debonair, has returned to the aviation industry. He has been appointed executive vice-president of Rome-based aircraft seat designers Aviointeriors. The firm supplies Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Swissair.



n wilkins recruited by



21st century travel



Internet start-up company 21st Century Travel has recruited Virgin Atlantic’s manager of leisure distribution UK and Ireland Ian Wilkins as head of business development.



Commercial director Jo Rzymowska said Wilkins will be using his considerable experience of e-commerce gained through his former role and will be focusing on business-to-business activity. A marketing manager will be named shortly.



n eurotunnel looks changing sales role



Eurotunnel is considering changing the role of its marketing and sales director after the resignation of Peter Stratton from the post. Stratton is leaving after 18 months at the company following his purchase of specialist travel staff company Simpson Recruitment. He will take over on April 1. Founder John Simpson will stay on as a consultant.



n Harris joins walt disney travel company



Walt Disney Travel Company has appointed Unijet sales manager flights and car hire Sarah Harris as sales manager for its new UK tour operation.



Harris will report directly to Walt Disney Travel Company national sales manager, Martin Froggatt. In her new position, Harris will concentrate on developing and managing relationships with travel agents throughout the UK.
