Here we salute those brave enough to resist trotting out tedious corporate claptrap at industry events.In this category I’m really hoping for some candidates from the major companies because they usually insist that their employees talk for 40mins about how great they are. They think this will interest and impress the audience. It doesn’t.
Congratulations, then, to Airtours sales, marketing and development director Ed Sims for having the courage to poke fun at the industry during his recent speech at the ARTAC conference.
I bet some of his colleagues at Airtours would have had a fit had they known he was going to do that rather than talk about how wonderful the group is. Why?It made me laugh, stuck in my mind and sub-consciously made me feel good about his company. Enough said.
