NCLfaces UScourt action

THEFORMER chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line, Geir Aune, has launched a lawsuit against the company, claiming he is owed more than $2m under a severance agreement.

Aune was replaced by Colin Veitch after Star Cruises bought NCL earlier this year.

In his lawsuit filed in a Miami court, Aune alleges he was fired. However, NCL claims Aune is still employed as an executive vice-president and had been asked to assist during the transition of control to Star.

A NCL spokeswoman said it is seeking an amicable settlement but if the matter was unresolved, it would oppose Aune’s claim.
