1st Class praised for backing independents

ONE OF the regular gripes from agents is aimed at the growing band of operators who encourage direct business, either from their own brochures or from their direct-sell arm.

We were surprised, therefore, to find a company that sends their direct clients into the travel agent. Last week a couple walked in saying they had called a tour operator direct who had recommended our agency as being a quality independent travel agency close to their home. The clients booked a tailor-made Canadian tour valued at just under £3,000.

We would like to say a big thank you to 1st Class Holidays for supporting the independent travel trade. They deserved their award for travel agents favourite tour operator to Canada.
