The Palladium Hotel Group is ramping up its renewable energy plans, as part of its commitment to sustainability.
In Spain, 100% of the energy consumed in all the group’s properties comes from renewable sources – either guarantees of origin or the hotels’ solar panels.
This summer, it has installed solar panels in Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel (pictured), Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa.
It plans to further expand the number of solar panels in the coming years, and use other sustainable sources including natural gas, thermal recovery systems and geothermal energy.
Currently, 20% of the energy consumed in group’s hotels – across Spain, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Italy and Brazil – has a guarantee of renewable origin.
The group hopes to raise that figure to 50% this year.
The company’s sustainability drive also includes waste management, the reduction of single-use plastics, and support for local products.
The Spanish hotel chain operates 41 hotels under nine brands: TRS Hotels, Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts, Palladium Hotels, Palladium Boutique Hotels, Fiesta Hotels & Resorts, Ushuaïa Unexpected Hotels, Only You Hotels, Bless Collection Hotels and the Hard Rock Hotels Brand under licence with three hotels in Ibiza Tenerife and Marbella.
