Travel agency consortium chief Julia Lo Bue-Said has welcomed Gatwick’s upgraded railway station ahead of its unveiling next week.
The revamped rail facilities at the airport following a £250 million redevelopment are due to come online on November 21.
Advantage Travel Partnership chief executive Lo Bue-Said said: “The multi-million-pound redevelopment of Gatwick airport railway station should make a huge improvement to the experience of travellers.
“Investment in transport links to and from UK airports is vital for to ensure greater connectivity across the country.
“Whilst Gatwick airport is a top choice for leisure travellers, it also serves business travellers due to its availability of long-haul flying routes to high growth markets, the high frequency of flights and the fact that Gatwick is accessible for domestic routes.”
She added: “For business travellers, time is always of the essence and these major enhancements to the railway station, which has previously suffered from high levels of congestion, should make the ever-crucial journey between train and plane smoother and quicker.”
