Airline considers demand for Jersey-Isle of Man route

An air link between Jersey and the Isle of Man is being assessed by Channel Islands carrier Blue Islands.

Multiple flights are currently required, connecting via airports such as Birmingham.

A survey local business communities until November 18 will help the airline evaluate the demand and viability of a direct service.

The carrier’s chief commercial officer Tom Barrasin said: “There are many businesses that operate across Jersey and the Isle of Man.

“The survey is designed primarily to better understand the corporate travel requirements, by gathering data regarding current behaviours and propensity to travel, to determine if a viable, sustainable route could be re-established.”

He added: “Blue Islands continually evaluates opportunities for new route development to better connect the Channel Islands, such as our direct services to Rennes, Dublin and Norwich established this year.

“Engagement with our corporate and business travellers is a vital component of our meeting the island’s connectivity requirements.”
