American Airlines is adding frequency to Los Angeles and Charlotte to create its largest transatlantic schedule from London this summer.
The British Airways partner will run as many as 26 daily flights from Heathrow starting in April.
The expansion solidifies American’s position as the biggest US carrier at the London hub with 11 destinations served with the highest daily frequency of four flights to New York, Chicago and Dallas Fort Worth.
Charlotte and Los Angeles will both be served by three flights a day plus two daily flights to Miami and Philadelphia and daily services to Boston, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham and Seattle.
Strategic performance and UK operations managing director Rhett Workman said: “Travel to and from the US and England is increasing in popularity, and we are thrilled to be able to cater to the growing demand from passengers.
“As we saw in summer last year, people want to – and are – travelling. At American we’re excited to help introduce passengers to everything the US and beyond has to offer and to do so as the largest US carrier at London Heathrow.”
