American Airlines has resumed London flights to Raleigh-Durham after the US route was suspended during the pandemic.
The direct transatlantic service returns after more than two years with a daily frequency by 272-passenger Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
The route to North Carolina means the carrier will be running a record North Atlantic schedule from Heathrow this summer with up to 23 daily flights to ten US cities.
These include Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Phoenix.
Europe, Asia and Pacific operations managing director Rhett Workman said: “With the return of our Raleigh-Durham flight, American continues to strengthen its footprint in our European gateway of London Heathrow just in time for a record-breaking summer travel season.”
