Colombian carrier Avianca has appointed Aviareps as its UK general sales agent (GSA).
The firm will provide the Latin American airline with sales, reservations and ticketing services and support the its growth in the UK, reflecting a similar arrangement in Germany.
The Star Alliance member carrier provides flights from London to Bogota.
Europe sales manager Alejandra Agudelo Lopez said: “Avianca is committed to the United Kingdom market and the opportunities it represents.
“Only in 2022 we flew 560 times between London and Bogota, carrying more than 125.000 passengers with 82% of our flights arriving at its destination with less than 14 minutes of delay.
“Considering the relevance and dynamics of the United Kingdom, we have decided to strengthen our presence and scope.”
Aviareps UK general manager Katerina Tomina added: “Our local aviation experts will support Avianca Airlines with their expertise and knowledge of the UK market and will help strengthen the brand awareness of the airline with the ultimate goal of increasing Avianca Airlines’ ticket sales.
“We already represent Avianca Airlines in Germany and we feel honoured about the expansion of our partnership and the given trust.”
