British Airways is lifting the suspension of flights to St Kitts from the autumn.
The airline is to restart service to the Caribbean island from Gatwick on October 3 with twice-weekly flights operating on Saturdays and Wednesdays from October 16, the tourist board confirmed.
The move came as amber listed St Kitts & Nevis announced it would welcome fully vaccinated airline passengers from the UK from September 1.
The vaccination rate in St Kitts and Nevis continues an upward momentum, with 72.8% of the adult population having received one dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine and 61.4% of the adult population fully vaccinated.
International travellers will undergo a health screening on arrival at the airport which includes a temperature check and a health questionnaire.
They will be asked to stay at one of eight ‘travel approved’ hotels for four days before moving around the island.
The hotels approved for international travellers are: Four Seasons, Golden Rock Inn, Marriott Beach Club, Montpelier Plantation & Beach, Paradise Beach, Park Hyatt, Royal St Kitts Hotel and St Kitts Marriott.
Fully vaccinated international travellers arriving by air are required to submit a PCR exit test before returning home at a cost of $150. If a person is staying seven days, their pre-departure test will be on day four; while those staying 14 days will need to take a pre-departure test on day 11.
