Bristol airport operations resume after lighting problem

Bristol airport has warned of days throughout the day after an early morning problem with airfield lighting equipment.

Flight operations were held until 8am with the first arrivals of the day delayed.

The airport said in a posting on X, formerly Twitter, that flight operations were being held until at least 8am.

The suspension of flights was due too “technical problems with the airfield lighting equipment”.

A later notice confirmed that the runway had reopened with flights resuming.

The airport said: “Some delays are still expected throughout the rest of the day and customers are advised to check with their airline for the latest information.”
