EasyJet chief executive Johan Lundgren has been added to the line-up of speakers at this year’s Travel Convention.
The aviation boss last spoke at Abta’s annual convention not long after taking over the helm in December 2017.
The convention organisers said: “This promises to be a fascinating insight into his time at the airline which has, of course, included navigating the pandemic as the airline pursues its ambition of becoming ‘Europe’s most loved airline, winning for customers, shareholders and the company’s people’.

“Credited with devising and launching easyJet holidays – the lead partner of the convention – Johan will also outline its growth plans, as he prepares to step down next year and hand over the reins to his successor.”
Chief financial officer Kenton Jarvis, who joined the airline in February 2021, will succeed Lundgren when he departs early next year.
EasyJet has more than 300 aircraft operating on nearly 1,000 routes to more than 150 airports across 35 countries.
Lundgren is also the chair of the recently established Hydrogen for Aviation Alliance, a partnership of major players in the aviation and energy sectors established to accelerate zero carbon aviation.
He has spent more than 30 years working in the travel industry after training as a classical musician.
Before joining easyJet in 2017 as chief executive, he was group deputy chief executive and chief executive of mainstream tourism at Tui AG. Before that, he was managing director for the Northern Region at Tui Travel from 2007 until 2011.
This year’s Travel Convention will take place from October 7-9 in Costa Navarino, Greece, and will be titled ‘Shaping our Future’.
The Early Bird registration discount comes to an end next week. It is available for registrations received on or before Friday July 19.
