EasyJet holidays has expanded its trade support in anticipation of a “brilliant” January despite acknowledging the likelihood of “stumbling blocks” to business in the peak booking period.
The operator, which launched to the trade in August 2020, has more than doubled the size of its Sheffield-based support centre and call centre for the trade to service agent partners.
It has also bolstered its trade-facing team with the appointment of Dom Carrick as business development manager, who started on January 4, and Lisa Muschamp, who joined as distribution executive in November.
Carrick will be focused on driving agent sales in the south of England, particularly from Gatwick.
Head of distribution Brad Bennetts told a Travel Weekly Webcast: “We know there’s a huge opportunity with Gatwick. We have 82 aircraft based there; we have a huge capacity and network.
“That additional layer of support for agents in the south is really going to pay dividends.”
He added: “We’ve really ramped up to what we all hope is going to be a brilliant January. We know we’ve got a few little stumbling blocks and a few little barriers that we’ve seen of late but we’ve doubled the size of that team so we have a huge amount of support on hand for the trade to ensure that we’re there to support them.”
