EasyJet holidays launches Cairo packages

EasyJet holidays has put package holidays to Cairo on sale for the first time, following news from sister airline easyJet that it will start serving the Egyptian capital from Luton next month.

The operator is featuring a range of hotels in Cairo, including the four-star Mamlouk Pyramids Hotel, which is within walking distance of the Pyramids of Giza and Great Sphinx. A three-night break on a room-only basis costs £365, with flights departing November 11.

Hotels with pools include the five-star Concorde el Salam Cairo Hotel & Casino, and the five-star Hilton Cairo Heliopolis.

EasyJet holiday packages to Cairo include 23kg luggage, flights, hotel and transfers.

Paul Bixby, commercial director at easyJet holidays, said: “Cairo has so much to offer as a destination, with not only incredible ancient history and impressive sights to see, but relaxing resorts and fantastic cuisine. So, we’re thrilled to be launching holidays to the city, and I’m confident it will be a hit with holidaymakers.”

EasyJet started selling flights to Cairo for the first time last month, and is offering three flights a week, starting on October 31.

The flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with Cairo becoming easyJet’s 157th destination.

The airline, which is the UK’s largest carrier to Egypt, currently flies to Sharm-el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

Budget rival Wizz Air also announced last month that it would start operating three flights a week to Cairo from Luton airport from October 30.
