Former easyJet strategy chief joins Jet2 board

A former easyJet group strategy and implementation director is joining Jet2 as an independent non-executive director.

Rachel Kentleton, who has also held various senior positions in finance and investor relations, takes up the role from March 18, replacing Mark Laurence, who is to retire from the board after 14 years.

Kentleton was most recently chief financial officer at St Modwen Properties  and prior to that group finance director at PayPoint.

She is a non-executive director at Trustpilot Group and Travelodge and worked for easyjet for nine years until 2016.

Kentleton will join Jet2’s audit & risk committee and remuneration committee. She will chair the audit & risk committee following completion of an external audit of the company’s financial results for the year ending March 31.

Non-executive chairman Robin Terrell said: “Firstly, on behalf of the board, I would like to thank Mark for his service over a period in which the turnover of the business grew more than tenfold and wish him well for the future.

“We are delighted to welcome Rachel to the board. Rachel is an experienced director, with an impressive track record both in her executive and non-executive roles.

“Her breadth of expertise will be invaluable as we continue our focus on people, service, profits and deliver our strategy to be the UK’s leading and best leisure travel business.”
