Gulf Air adds Manchester-Bahrain service

Gulf Air is to add two weekly flights between Manchester and Bahrain this summer.

The route launches on June 1 and will be operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

It is one of four new routes added by Bahrain’s national carrier flights from Bahrain International, alongside services to European destinations Milan, Rome and Nice.

It comes as Gulf Air resumes operations across Europe, including between Bahrain and Heathrow.

Bahrain removed the need for all travellers to take a PCR test on arrival on Sunday, February 20.

Quarantine requirements for all passengers arriving in the kingdom have also been removed but vaccination certification may be needed for entry to some venues.

Gulf Air’s acting chief executive, captain Waleed AlAlawi, said: “These new destinations have been on our horizon and as travel bounces back to normalcy, we knew it was the right time to launch our new routes for our passengers.

“Our network keeps adding popular boutique destinations that are favourite to many tourists and families in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region especially as demand for travel grows in a healthy accelerated way towards the summer holidays.”
