Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks will start offering Porto as a destination from this summer instead of next year in a move triggered by “phenomenal demand”.
In November last year, the brands said flights and holidays to the city would begin in summer 2025 from Birmingham and Manchester.
But it has been decided to bring the Manchester offering forward by a year, meaning two flights a week will operate from July 4 until November 3.

Jet2 chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We always listen to what our customers and independent travel agent partners are telling us so we have acted quickly to bring forward the launch of Porto by a whole year, meaning flights and city breaks to Porto are now available from Manchester for summer 24.”
The flights, which will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, bring the total number of Jet2 destinations on sale from Manchester this summer to 59.
The Birmingham flights will begin next year and will also operate on Thursdays and Sundays, alongside the Manchester service.
Heapy added: “Since announcing the launch of the brand-new city destination of Porto, we have experienced phenomenal demand.”
