Jet2 issues UK weather disruption alert

Jet2 has warned of potential flight disruption today (Wednesday) as bad weather was forecast in parts of the country.

In a UK weather update for both departing and arriving passengers, the airline and operator pointed to a Met Office warning of high winds expected in Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle.

The company said in an update on its website: “If you are travelling with Jet2.com we plan to operate our flights as close to schedule as possible, however, there may be some disruption should the weather deteriorate.

“Our operations team continue to monitor the UK forecast to ensure we have the most up to date information for all Jet2.com departing and arriving customers for 31st January 2024 from 05:00 until 19:00.”

Holidaymakers were advised to check in as planned and staff at airports would provide up to date information.

“We will, where possible, board all flights for an on-time departure, however, please be prepared for a longer than normal wait either in the terminal or onboard the aircraft to depart,” the company added.

“If your flight is disrupted, we will be in contact with you direct via SMS and email and post regular updates on the Jet2.com website.

“Jet2.com would like to apologise in advance for any disruption you may experience. Your comfort and safety is our number one priority, we will have you on the way as soon as possible.

“Rest assured, in the event of flight disruption our dedicated operations teams are always working hard behind the scenes at our UK-based HQ to get you on your way as soon as possible.”
