Loganair increases Teesside-Heathrow services

Loganair has increased its number of week day flights between Teesside and Heathrow from two to three times a day.

The service, which started in March, will be ramped up rom July 12.

Flights, lasting one hour and 15 minutes, will depart Teesside at 14:50 in addition to the existing 06.50 and 17.55 services.

A new return journey from Heathrow departs at 16.40, in addition to the existing 08.50 and 19.50 flights.

On weekends, there is one morning flight on Saturdays and two on Sundays.

The service is designed to connect people in the Tees Valley area to Heathrow, so they can join international services from the UK’s largest airport.

Loganair has interline agreements with airlines including British Airways, KLM, Air France, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and Qatar Airways – allowing single ticket fares, through check-in, through luggage and protected connections.

The regional carrier said “additional flight times build on the existing flexibility for business customers with the option of a full working day at either destination as well as optimum timings for leisure travellers, while increasing the number of connections available for international travel at London’s biggest airport”.

Fares lead in at £69.99 one way.

Loganair’s chief commercial officer, Kay Ryan, said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to increase operations at Teesside International as we build on our partnership with the airport, offering customers from Tees Valley more flexibility as travel restrictions ease. There is no doubt that this service will provide the timings necessary to support the business growth the area is experiencing, now and in the future.

“Air travel still faces incredible difficulties amid remaining restrictions, however it is crucially important that connectivity across the UK remains in place and this next step to increase operations highlights the continued demand for such services.”
