Luxtripper customers raise concerns over future holidays

Anxious couples fear losing their honeymoons booked with Luxtripper to destinations such as the Maldives after the online operator suspended operations.

Travel Weekly has been approached by clients with bookings worth thousands of pounds unsure if they will be able to travel as Luxtripper urgently seeks a financial rescue or sale.

A Facebook customer group has been set up with almost 100 members highlighting their concerns after being unable to make contact with the company.

Luxtripper confirmed on Thursday that it is going though a financial restructuring following months of unsuccessful fund-raising attempts.

The Luxtripper website still appears to be open for bookings 24 hours after the announcement with no indication of operations being suspended.

However, the company’s phone lines were unavailable with a recorded message telling callers to email enquiries.

Restructuring firm ReSolve Advisory has been brought in to try and secure emergency rescue capital or a sale of the business.

A deadline for offers by prospective investors or buyers has been set for Monday (October 23) with the aim of completing any deal by October 27.
