Delta Air Lines’ new daily non-stop service from Heathrow to Los Angeles takes off on Sunday (March 26).
It will be the first time the service has operated since 2015 and the new route forms part of Delta’s largest-ever transatlantic summer schedule.
The Los Angeles link is one of eight daily non-stop flights the airline will offer from Heathrow to the US this summer.
Furthermore, Los Angeles is a key hub for Delta on the west coast of the US, with more than 140 daily flights providing connections to destinations such as Hawaii, Las Vegas and Portland.
More: Delta expands UK transatlantic network
Nicolas Ferri, Delta’s Europe, Middle East, Africa & India vice president, said: “As we expand our global network, Delta is building our presence at London Heathrow, offering more non-stop choice to our customers with the restart of service to Los Angeles.
“Since Delta first began service from London Heathrow in 2008, we’ve grown our network offering eight daily non-stop flights to eight US gateways, and over 200 connections via our hubs to destinations across the US and beyond.”
The new Los Angeles flight complements transatlantic partner Virgin Atlantic’s existing three daily services from Heathrow.
Together the airlines will offer up to 278 weekly services between the US and US during the peak travel months.
Delta’s Los Angeles flight departs Heathrow at 16:20, arriving in LA at 19:50. Return flights are scheduled to leave LA at 20:25 and arrive in London at 14:50.
