Ryanair adds winter routes from Newcastle airport

Ryanair is almost doubling its winter network from Newcastle airport with the addition of six new routes.

Flights to Barcelona, Cork, Milan, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Riga will bring the number of destinations served by non-frills airline from the north-east airport up to 15.

The carrier is to deploy two aircraft at Newcastle and has scheduled more than 80 flights a week over the winter period.

One-way fares start £21.99 for travel from October until January if  booked by Friday (September 9).

Commercial director Jason McGuinness said: “This winter Ryanair is offering its UK customers lower fares and more certainty with their travel plans, as it operates a full schedule of over 3,000 daily flights with many new routes and unbeatable value for our customers and their families.

“We are delighted to continue our long-term development plan with Newcastle airport in the winter season to give our customers the most options for travel year-round at the lowest possible fares, developing traffic, jobs and economic support to the area.”
