Ryanair passenger numbers rose by 52% in August to almost 17 million.
The year-on-year increase came as Europe’s largest low fares carrier operated 92,800 flights across its network.
The increase – from 11.1 million carryings in August 2021 – is the sixth successive monthly boost in passenger volumes.
The passenger load factor also jumped from 82% to 96%.
The August total compared to a pre-Covid peak of 14.9 million in August 2019. It was the fourth consecutive month of record passengers.
The progressive recovery from the pandemic downturn in 2020 was affected in March by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
However, passenger levels have risen every month since, although the August total was only marginally up on the 16.8 million carryings in July.
The Ryanair figures came as rival Wizz Air reported five million carryings in August.
