An arm of a Scottish travel management company has been named a global top performer.
In2Scotland, the inbound travel arm of The Travel Company Edinburgh, received the recognition for achieving the highest levels of quality and commitment within a global network overseen by Lufthansa.
In2Scotland has been a part of the Lufthansa City Centre (LCC) owner-managed network of 650 travel agencies across 80 countries since 2016.
Only agencies acting as destination management companies with the highest consulting quality and levels of customer service are invited by LCC to become part of its corporate network. LCC serves around 50,000 medium sized company clients
In2Scotland is one of only three LCC recognised agencies in the UK, and the only one in Scotland.
The Travel Company Edinburgh managing director Ken McNab said: “This recognition from such an influential international travel brand as Lufthansa is a welcome boost in what can only be described as the most difficult trading period for travel agents.
“We are proud of the achievement of being the best agency within the whole global LCC network.
“Like all our fellow agents in the UK, and throughout the world, this has been a very hard time whilst we struggle with little or no income.
“However, we continued to provide a high quality of service to all our travellers. We have been fortunate to have had some essential business travellers who have kept us going but at somewhere in the region of 10% of our previous business volumes.
“The quality of service our team delivers brings our clients back time and time again and we appreciate this award is recognition of all of those efforts.
“I’m sure the world recognises that soon this disease will become as normal as the common cold or flu and travel in our lives will begin again.
“Our hope is that our industry will survive as well, and our customers will fulfil their travel dreams and jobs again with the help and quality of service provided by travel agents.”
