SIA extends free wi-fi to all cabin classes

Singapore Airlines is to extend free wi-fi access to all cabin classes from July 1.

The enhanced online connection will be available virtually across the fleet and almost the entire global SIA route network, according to the carrier.

Passengers flying in premium economy and economy class will be included in addition to those in suites, first class and business class.

However, passengers must enter their KrisFlyer frequent flyer membership details at the point of booking online or at check-in to access the service.

Non-members may also sign up for free membership online or on board via the SIA digital content portal on their personal mobile devices to access the complimentary in-flight wi-fi.

KrisFlyer members travelling in premium economy and economy  have had three- and two-hour wi-fi surf plans respectively since February.

Customer experience senior vice president Yeoh Phee Teik said: “In today’s increasingly hyper-connected world, high-speed in-flight wi-fi connectivity is one of the most important requirements for our customers.

“Giving them access to free unlimited wi-fi is yet another milestone in SIA’s continuous effort to offer an exceptional end-to-end travel experience.

“With this enhanced offering, our customers will be empowered to stay connected, entertained, and productive, even at 36,000 feet in the sky.”
