Spain’s Covid booster jab rule comes into force

Spain has tightened its entry rules for UK tourists ahead of the February half-term holiday period, meaning visitors must show proof of a valid Covid-19 booster jab to enter if their previous vaccination injections were more than 270 days before arrival.

The change comes into force on Tuesday (February 1) and means any holidaymaker who has had both initial doses of the vaccine more than 270 days previously will not be classified as fully jabbed.

Those who have received a booster vaccination will be allowed into Spain only if 14 days have passed since the jab.

The need to be fully vaccinated applies to visitors aged 12 and over.

Brits may also face additional checks at their point of entry including a temperature check, visual health assessment, or testing on arrival.

Passengers may also be contacted and required to undertake a PCR test at any point up to 48 hours after their arrival in Spain.

An NHS Covid Pass showing Covid-19 vaccination details will be accepted.
