Start-up long-haul carrier Hans Airways has recruited a UK sales manager to work with travel agents and travel management companies.
Seema Verma’s last sales and customer facing role was with British Airways as a passenger service agent/Ambassador before a career switch into banking and foreign exchange.
Her appointment comes as staff moved into a dedicated new office at Birmingham airport ahead of the start of planned flights to India.
Hans Airways says it is readying to launch within a month of the formal award of its UK Air Operator’s Certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority.
The carrier plans a two-class service to Amritsar in northern India with wide body Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
The airline is recruiting 20 additional cabin crew to be based in Birmingham, with 11 to start training in November.
Verma said: “Delivering and building relationships is crucial in such a people focused business and the culture of Hans Airways, which is positioning as a community airline, has that at its heart.”
