A new commercial director is joining Turkish-German leisure airline SunExpress.
Helmut Wolfel succeeds Peter Glade who is leaving the Lufthansa-Turkish Airlines joint venture at the end of October after eight years.
Wolfel joins from Lufthansa offshoot Discover Airlines where he was chief commercial officer following various roles at the German flag carrier.
He will be responsible for driving commercial strategy at SunExpress, with a focus on expanding the airline’s network, increasing customer satisfaction and integrating technologies to enable faster, more efficient services.
Airline chiefs executive Max Kownatzki said: “Helmut brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in various commercial roles within the airline industry, particularly in the leisure travel segment.
“We are looking forward to Helmut playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future growth.
“I would also like to thank Peter Glade for his commercial leadership and for building mutually beneficial success stories with our customers.
“Throughout his tenure, SunExpress achieved outstanding commercial results and established innovative commercial models.”
