Switzerland to open up to vaccinated Brits

Switzerland will allow visitors from the UK to enter without having to quarantine if they can show proof of being fully vaccinated.

The new policy comes into effect on Saturday (June 26).

The same rule applies to the US and many other important source markets for the Swiss tourism industry.

For travel within the European Union/Schengen area there will be no more restrictions.

Switzerland Tourism – the Swiss National Tourism Board – said: “The desire to travel is increasing at a steady pace and many are now planning their trips for the summer and autumn.

“With the UK as the second most important European source market for Switzerland, this step is very much welcomed by the Swiss tourism industry.

“UK residents who have been fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid, will be allowed to enter without quarantine.

“This will make Switzerland easily accessible to British guests and should make it again a popular destination this summer. Guests appreciate – especially after the pandemic – Switzerland’s reliability, cleanliness, safety and pure nature.”

More than 4,000 tourism businesses have earned the Swiss ‘Clean&Safe’ certification of comprehensive safety concepts.
