The Travel Network Group has had to re-arrange the timetable of its overseas conference in Munich following major flight disruption caused by record snowfall.
The Bavarian city’s airport continues to face major flight problems with cancellations meaning that more than half of the number of attendees are not able to attend the event, which was due to start today (Monday).
The ‘Your Story, Your Success’ Conference was scheduled to host more than 500 delegates but less than half – 230 – are now scheduled to arrive
Chief executive Gary Lewis said: “We are hugely disappointed that some of our members, business partners and guests can’t join us in Munich for our event.
“Our team has worked tirelessly over the past 14 hours to rebook as many delegates as we could and we have managed to rebook over 100 seats on different flight arrangements, either via Salzburg, Zurich or Stuttgart.
“We are incredibly humbled by the response from our members and business partners; they have all shown understanding to this situation which is outside of our control.”
He added: “Our plan is to run a re-arranged timetable of the whole conference, for those delegates that can make their way to Munich and we are also equipped to run a live stream of the event for the attendees who sadly could not join us.”
