Budget carrier Wizz Air will operate a new route from Gatwick to Varna in Bulgaria this summer.
The flights will operate three times per week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – adding to the five flights per week that already depart from Luton airport.
The new route will run throughout the summer from June 18 and means the carrier will be serving the London-Varna connection daily.
Fares start at £26.99 one-way.
Wizz Air described Varna as the historical maritime capital of Bulgaria and the nation’s third-largest city. Situated on the coast of the Black Sea, Varna’s coastline offers more than 22 beaches.
Zsuzsa Trubek, communications manager at Wizz Air, said: “We are pleased to announce the new route from London Gatwick to Varna, making it easier for travellers to explore the city this summer, while also connecting families between the UK and Bulgaria.
“Varna is a beautiful coastal city with a range of activities for UK tourists to explore. From beaches and parks to its museums and ancient historical landmarks, it is a wonderful destination for anyone looking for a less-traditional solo trip, family holiday, or a trip with friends this summer.”
