AmaWaterways is giving away complimentary sailings on a selection of week-long European sailings this year to frontline medical professionals.
Medical staff – who must travel alongside a paying passenger and provide an ID card – can choose from 30 sailing dates between October and December 2021 on the Rhine, Main, Moselle and Danube rivers.
The limited-time offer, which also ran last year, has been resumed by the river line to mark International Nurses Day (May 12).
Sailings include the Romantic Danube from Vilshofen, Germany, to Budapest, Hungary; Magical Christmas Markets from Nuremberg, Germany, to Vienna, Austria; and the Enchanting Rhine itinerary from Basel, Switzerland, to Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Kristin Karst, the line’s executive vice president and co-founder, said: “Our frontline medical heroes have worked tirelessly over the past year to keep our communities safe, and they deserve so much recognition for their unwavering dedication.
“It is our honour to provide these selfless individuals with a much-needed break on a memorable river cruise holiday, where they can rest easy and enjoy leisurely days full of discovery in magnificent European destinations.”
The line said: “The complimentary river cruise offer is re-opened for a limited time to active medical professionals who may not have had the opportunity to enrol last year.”
