APT launches 2022-23 Mekong river cruise programme

APT is to add two ships – Mekong Serenity and RV Apsara – to its Mekong programme for 2022 and 2023.

New-build Mekong Serenity can carry up to 88 passengers and has been custom built for APT’s luxury fleet.

The operator said the ship has “some of the largest entry-level suites of any vessel cruising on the Mekong River”.

Mekong Serenity’s dining options include the Horizon Bar and Grill and the Indochine restaurant. Passengers can watch traditional Cambodian dance performances in the Harmony Lounge and Bar.

The ship (pictured) will operate two itineraries – the 15-day Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights and the 19-day Vietnam and Cambodia Discovery.

Prices for the Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights, from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to Siem Reap, Cambodia, currently starts at £4,145 per person – down from £5,295. The saving of £1,150 is available when bookings are made before December 31.

Prices include return flights, home-to-airport transfers, hotel accommodation, the cruise, meals and drinks. Both itineraries have departures from July 2022 to March 2023.

RV Apsara previously operated in APT’s luxury fleet but will sail for the company’s premium brand Travelmarvel next year.

The all-balcony 108-passenger ship has a sun deck, air-conditioned lounge and a spa. The main dining area – Mekong Restaurant – offers international and local dishes.

The RV Apsara will operate two itineraries – the 14-day Essential Vietnam and Cambodia and the 18-day Discover Vietnam and Cambodia.

Prices for the Essential Vietnam and Cambodia sailing, from Ho Chi Minh City, currently leads in from £2,945 per person – down from £3,945. The £1,000 saving is only available when bookings are made before December 31.

The discounted fare includes flights, a seven-night cruise, hotel accommodation on land, meals and selected beverages.

Both itineraries operate from July 2022 to March 2023.

APT managing director Paul Melinis said that the company was the “number one cruise line in Asia” in terms of volume.

“Having amazing new ships from both the APT and Travelmarvel brands gives the trade something new and fresh to talk to their customers about,” he added.

“Our sales team has been busy working on supportive sales assets, so agents can reach out to our head of sales, Jessica Shelton-Agar, and her team for any help in promoting this amazing new product.”
