Clia has recruited Viking’s former vice-president of nautical operations to lead the cruise sector’s sustainability push in the UK and Europe.
Sascha Gill, who also held roles in learning and development at Viking and before that in hotel operations, takes up the role of sustainability vice-president at the association.
Marie-Caroline Laurent, Clia Europe director general, said: “Europe is a global leader with its sustainability ambitions and the future of cruising has sustainability at its core.
“Further strengthening our expertise and capability in Europe will enhance our ability to support our members as they navigate the pathways to achieve our vision of net zero carbon cruising by 2050.”
