Costa Cruises aims to have its entire fleet back operating this summer with four of its newest ships operating in the Mediterranean.
The line’s latest vessels – Costa Toscana, Costa Firenze (pictured), Costa Venezia, and Costa Smeralda – are due to enter service on March 5, April 7, May 1 and May 7 respectively.
They will be part of a 12-ship fleet operating more than 1,800 cruises from spring 2022 to winter 2023. Cruises will range from three to 127 days.
Costa plans to operate shore excursions this summer without restrictions.
Roberto Alberti, senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Costa Cruises, said: “We are seeing the growth in demand for holidays, and I am sure that this trend will increase further in the coming weeks.
“Our guests will be able to enjoy their vacations on a fleet with latest generation ships, which combine sustainable innovation with entertainment, hospitality and wellbeing.”
He added: “In 2021, we safely recorded on our ships more than 1.5 million passenger movements, achieving a truly unique and exceptional record considering the context in which we operated.”
Customer satisfaction levels reached “unprecedented levels” last year, Alberti said.
“I am confident that the return to free shore excursions, which we are planning for next summer and which we hope can be anticipated as early as next spring, will be an extra incentive to choose a Costa cruise,” he added.
The line confirmed Costa Serena’s Asia 2022 programme will be announced over “the next few weeks”.
