CroisiEurope has “reluctantly” introduced a “small” fuel surcharge in response to the rise in global fuel prices.
The surcharge applies to the French cruise operator’s 2022 departures and “will cease as soon as the situation resolves”.
CroisiEurope, which operates river and ocean-going vessels, did not confirm how high the surcharge was.
Regional airline Loganair has also imposed a surcharge and will remove it once the price of Brent crude oil drops below $85 per barrel for six consecutive weeks.
The airline’s surcharge will be halved the price goes below $110 per barrel for six consecutive weeks.
Industry analysts last week warned that widespread fuel surcharges on air fares “can’t be far off” as prices rose following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
At the time of writing, the price of Brent crude oil per barrel was $103 – up from $96 a month ago.
