Emerald Cruises has launched a new ship to add to its fleet of Star-Ships, Emerald Astra.
The 180-guest ship was designed to “mirror the sleek elegance” of the line’s superyachts and will be the seventh Star-Ship sailing in Europe.
Emerald Astra amenities include a pool/cinema combination, multiple dining options and a sun deck.
It will join the fleet in 2026 and will sail the Rhine, Moselle and Danube rivers.
Emerald Cruises’ 2026 river cruise season will go on sale in early November*, and will be available via Expressbook for the trade.
Emerald Cruises will also implement “a comprehensive upgrade” across its Europe river fleet, including vessels operating on the Rhine-Main-Danube, the Rhône and the Douro.
The upgrades will be ready for the 2025 season and include Horizon Bar and lounge redesigns, pool/cinema and dining space updates, Missoni textiles and yacht-inspired art additions and iPads being placed in all guest cabins.
Glen Moroney, founder and chairman of Scenic Group, said: “As we continue to expand our fleet and enhance the guest experience, our commitment remains steadfast: to provide unrivalled luxury and value in river cruising.
“The introduction of Emerald Astra, alongside the fleet-wide upgrades, exemplifies our dedication to leading innovation in the industry.
“By seamlessly blending the finest elements of river and yacht cruising, we ensure that every journey is extraordinary.”
