Former Uniworld sales boss Kristian Anderson has joined The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection as vice president of global sales.
The newly created role will see Anderson focus on growing the line’s trade network and working closely with the Marriott global luxury sales team. He will be based in South Florida and will report directly into The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s chief executive Doug Prothero.
“We are thrilled to have Kristian Anderson join our team as Vice President of Global Sales,” Prothero said.
“With a diverse sales background that includes strong experience within the luxury sector, Kristian is going to be a great addition to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.”
Anderson joined the cruise industry in 2012 after working for airlines including Qatar Airways, South African Airways and Aeromexico Airlines.
He spent four years at Silversea Cruises, joining as vice president of sales and advancing to senior vice president and general manager of the Americas.
Between 2016 and 2020, Anderson worked for Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, where he rose to executive vice president of global sales.
The first of three custom-built yachts from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is scheduled to launch in May 2022, following several false starts. Evrima had initially been due to launch in February 2020, however this was pushed back to June 2020 and, later, April 2021.
A statement from the line said the latest delay was due to “the ongoing impact of Covid-19, combined with related challenges created for construction operations in Europe”.
Evrima’s rescheduled inaugural voyage will now take place on May 6 from Lisbon, Portugal.
Prothero said: “While we are eager to welcome guests on board Evrima, we have had to re-evaluate the timing of our first voyage given the rapidly changing circumstances and their impact on Evrima’s completion.
“We remain excited to set sail in the spring and thank our guests for their understanding and patience as we continue to navigate this unprecedented global environment.”
Guests impacted by the delay can choose to reschedule their voyage to an available itinerary in 2022 or 2023 or discuss reimbursement options through the line.
