Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has appointed James Scott as sales manager for the UK and Ireland.
This follows Scott occupying the position on a freelance basis.
His target is to “increase brand awareness and relevance” leading to “a substantial increase” in bookings from the UK and Ireland and will have “a broad focus” including scaling existing partnerships, acquiring new partners, organic growth and business development.
He will report into Jan Viebrock, senior international sales manager at the line.
In a LinkedIn post, Scott said: “Over the past eight months, I’ve had the privilege of working with an exceptionally talented team of individuals across the business as well as representing a brand that sets the standard in expedition and luxury cruising.
“Hapag-Lloyd Cruises offers something truly unique, and it’s been fantastic to showcase this exceptional product to the UK and Irish market.
“I’m excited to continue this journey elevating our wonderful brand to new heights across the UK and Ireland.”
Prior to starting at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Scott was a business development and engagement manager at Cunard.
He has also held sales roles at Oceania Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival Corporation and Seabourn over the past decade.
Scott started his career at Holland America Line as a personal cruise specialist.
