John Cooper joins Travel.Radio as presenter of The Cruise Show

Industry veteran John Cooper has joined Travel.Radio to become the presenter of weekly programme The Cruise Show.

Cooper replaces Clia UK and Ireland managing director Andy Harmer, who is taking a break to concentrate on the cruise industry as international sailings return.

Of the 35 years Cooper has worked in travel, he has spent more than decade presenting cruise programmes on television.

He left Travel Village Group nearly a year ago after efforts to set up a TV channel at the agency business were shelved when co-funding dried up during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining the Blackpool-based business, he fronted TV programmes for another agency Vision Cruise as brand director.

Travel.Radio said: “[Cooper] will take a weekly look at what is happening in the cruise world, talking to some of his friends in the industry, finding out what new things are coming and discussing what is so special about a cruise holiday.”

Cooper previously said: “I firmly believe that once this [pandemic] is all over, travel will bounce back in a big way, and we have to be prepared for when it does, and make plans for this, and I intend to be in that game.”

The Cruise Show airs every Tuesday from 1pm to 4pm.
