MSC Cruises increases Med deployment to meet demand

MSC Cruises has moved MSC Bellissima from the Middle East to the Mediterranean to meet “overwhelming” consumer demand.

This summer, the line will have 15 ships in the Mediterranean – the most it has ever had in the region.

Bellissima will offer seven-night sailings from a string of embarkation ports, including Barcelona, Valencia, Genoa, Livorno and Naples from July 9.

MSC said the itinerary is designed to ensure longer stays in port in Valencia to enable passengers to travel to Madrid, Barcelona and Genoa.

Bookings will open in the coming days, the line added.

Chief executive Gianni Onorato said: “As holidaymakers plan their summer holidays, we are extremely pleased to see that our continued and present investments in the experience on board are paying off with high ratings from recurring and new guests.

This led us to position one additional ship in the Mediterranean – a popular destination – to give our guests even more choice of ships and itineraries.”

He added: “MSC Cruises offers the most embarkation ports across the Mediterranean so that one or more is easily within reach by train, car as well as by flight from key capitals and other cities.

“This convenience has also proven extremely well received by our guests who choose an MSC Cruises experience with confidence for the value and peace of mind that the on board and ashore experience can offer them and their families.”

Bellissima launched in 2019 and has 12 dining venues and more than 20 bars for passengers to choose from.

The ship also features The Carousel Lounge where passengers can watch acrobatics, dance and music.

The MSC Yacht Club is also available on board across three decks where passengers staying in the suites have access to a round-the-clock butler.
