MSC Cruises’ UK boss has outlined plans to bring agents “up to speed” with the line’s developments as MSC regional sales staff start to regularly visit shops again.
Antonio Paradiso, UK and Ireland managing director, said regional sales staff would be “back on the road” up to three days a week.
The line is preparing to launch two ships – MSC World Europa and MSC Seascape – this year as well as operate its longest UK season with sailings running until November 4.
Paradiso said: “There’s so much to know and share with the trade. We need to make sure that we bring them up to speed with what’s happening.
“More of our sales team will be visiting agents in the coming weeks and months.”
MSC is scheduled to host a series of webinars next week with several “key” agencies, said Paradiso, who added that the line planned to run “at least one or two” webinars each month.
Paradiso also highlighted the potential opportunities for agents to experience MSC Virtuosa, which is set to return to the UK in spring.
He said: “We want to have as many [agents] as possible on board. There will be different incentives and campaigns that we’ll be running with travel agents.
“Many of them have seen the ship last year, so more exciting ideas that we will disclose closer to the date.”
In May, agents attending the Clia Conference will have the chance to board Virtuosa alongside Royal Caribbean International’s Anthem of the Seas and P&O Cruises ship Iona.
