NCL removes face mask requirement from March 1

Norwegian Cruise Line will remove its requirement for passengers to wear face masks on its sailings out of US ports from March 1.

The line updated its Sail Safe policy to reflect the change in stance, which it says is justified because all guests aged five and over, and 100% of its crew, must be vaccinated.

All guests will also be required to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 antigen or PCR test result administered by a verified third party, or via medically supervised home test, within two days of boarding for ex-US cruises, or within three days for cruises sailing from outside of the US.

NCL reminded guests they are also responsible for complying with all local health and safety requirements which may include additional testing.

The line said: “You want to cruise. We want to keep you safe.

“With Norwegian, our leading health and safety program allows you and your loved ones to cruise with the ultimate safety.

“All guests age five and over, as well as crew are required to be 100% fully vaccinated, so you can cruise with confidence. Let’s get back to living life to the fullest, together. Sail Safe. Feel Free.

“As government regulations evolve, our health and safety protocols will evolve as needed to ensure compliance. This may mean different protocols from ship to ship based on local requirements.”
