Norwegian Cruise Line to air new online docuseries next week

Norwegian Cruise Line is to air a docuseries next week ahead of its cruise restart date in late July.

All five episodes of EMBARK – The Series will be available on demand from April 16, with the first episode focusing on the health and safety measures put in place.

The first episode called Great Cruise Comeback will feature unscripted conversations with executive leaders including Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ president and chief executive Frank Del Rio and Harry Sommer, NCL’s president and chief executive.

A sneak peek of the episode available to watch now through NCL’s website shows Del Rio telling other executives that he “loves a comeback story”.

This week, NCL announced plans to resume cruises in Europe this summer. Norwegian Jade will offer seven-night Greek Isles cruises from Piraeus from July 25.

Sommer said: “[April 6] was a very big day for us as we announced the redeployment of the first ships to set sail following a year-long pause in our operations.

“We’re looking forward to reconnecting with our guests, crew, employees and partners in person as well as through the EMBARK with NCL platform, which will showcase our return to cruise journey through the people of NCL.”
