The funnel has been fitted to new Cunard ship Queen Anne in a kay part of the building process.
The placement of the red and black funnel took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy on Friday.
The milestone takes the 3,000-passenger ship a stage closer to its maiden voyage next year.
Queen Anne’s inaugural British Islands cruise from Southampton is now due to depart on May 24, 2024.
The 113,000-ton ship’s delivery was delayed from January next year due to supply chain issues.
Cunard senior vice president Angus Struthers said: “We are thrilled to mark this important milestone in the construction of Queen Anne.
“The installation of the funnel is a significant step in the building process and brings the ship one step closer to joining our fleet.
“For Cunard, the distinctive red and black funnel is an iconic symbol of our heritage and will be one of Queen Anne’s most recognisable features.”
